Search for Sunrise

May 4, 2012

In the wee hours

Half awake and half asleep

We searched for the sunrise

Effort was to sleep

And eager to throw the blanket

Off the bed

That day

Mindful of sleep

Were in amnesia of drowsiness

They say

“Two is a company

And three is a crowd”

Yet the crowd comprised

The best harmony

Because of the three

We were free

Like the birds chirping

In the woods

Unmindful of the world

And unmindful of the words

They uttered

In the drunken soberness of the soul

The souls, who were unmindful of the world

Oh Sun where art thou?

Behind the mountain

Or hidden in sea

Sea was not in sight

So we followed the mountain

We drew the compass

And looked for the east

Walking amidst mist

The mountains were high

Above the sights of our eyes

We followed the early rays

And we kept hidden our deepest says

Afraid of disrupting the harmony of the day

We looked far and far away

Mindful of what we say and don’t say

The Sun looked at us

And laughed a mischievous laugh

Playing a hide and seek game

Like we played in our early childhood days

We were mischievous too

Made the earthly play

A heavenly experience

Avoiding the treachery of the Sun

We looked in the east

Between those mountain cliffs

We searched for the red amber sun

And made a slow run

We followed the sun

And rays of it

Sometimes slow and sometimes a bit fast

A bit by bit

And oh the Sun was there!!

Burning hot yellow

And not the mellow

We were looking for

The sun was laughing loudly on its win

The game of hide and seek it has won

And we were remorseful of our loss

For a moment

But everything was not lost

The game was not just

Everything we had not lost

And time had not frost

Sun moved on its way

We had the best of our day

The day we will cherish

When we had won in a loss

And it was not just a toss

Neither was it gross

We wish to play again

The game of hide and seek with the sun

When we will be

The child we were then

We hope that the day we will come

When we will win and loss will be of sun

In its own den

And the hope

And the hope

And the company

And the company

And the hidden says

And the hidden says

And the red amber sun rays

And the red amber sun rays

Those unsaid expressions

Those unsaid expressions

Sometime again

Sometime again

The hide and seek game

The hide and seek game

These are the lines from me

To

Some of the best persons I have known

Some of the best persons I have known

Who forgive my unknowns

Who forgive my unknowns

And who will continue to forgive my acts so novice

And who will continue to forgive my acts so novice

Search for the sunrise will continue

Search for the sunrise will continue

And there will be a dawn new

And there will be a dawn new….
